What does Carreon Effect mean?

Carreon Effect meaning in Urban Dictionary

The ridicule and scorn caused by a legal danger meant to suppress information.Named after Charles Carreon, a self-proclaimed "online attorney" whom came to online infamy by wanting to silence Matthew Inman a.k.a The Oatmeal who'd spoken away over another web site's copyright infringement and their refusal to remove the infringing material. The complaint resulted in a charity fundraiser (which Carreon also tried to power down, without success) and lots of Internet denizens assaulting him via mail and phone and hacking their web site. Carreon ultimately filed a motion of dismissal, closing the scenario. Not to-be confused with the Streisand result.
