a form of white-blood mobile (leukocyte) with coarse, bluish-black granules of consistent dimensions in the cytoplasm. Basophils are incredibly called because their particular cytoplasmic granules stain with standard dyes. Basophils generally constitute 0.5 to 3 per cent for the peripheral bloodstream leukocytes, and contain histamine and serotonin. Also referred to as a basophilic leukocyte.
