In the vicinity (near Forest Row station) is the golf course of the Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club.
A golf course has been laid down south-east of the village, between the railway and the Garry, and every September a great display of Highland games is held.
A fine hotel, owned by the railway company, and an excellent golf course are the chief features, together with a town-hall with public reading room, and the place is much frequented for golf and sea-bathing.
While preserving most of the ancient features of its High Street, the town has tended to become a suburb of the capital, its fine beach and golf course hastening this development.
It has a good beach, a golf course and a pier.
