accidents to older amateur professional athletes, specially those who are part of the Baby Boom, produced when there was a noticeable rise in the birthrate after the end of World War II in 1945. As the Baby Boom generation started initially to switch 40 and 50, there was clearly a veritable surge of bone tissue and shared aches, discomforts, accidents, and disorders -- boomeritis. The word had been coined by Dr. Nicholas the DiNubile, an orthopedic physician in the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania, in 1999.
