a critical illness characterized by swelling of this walls for the bloodstream (vasculitis). The vessels impacted are the arteries (hence the name "arteritis"). The age of affected patients is usually over 50 years. Cranial arteritis can be called temporal arteritis and also as monster cellular arteritis. It can cause blindness and/or swing. The disease is recognized by a biopsy of an artery. It is addressed with a high dose cortisone-related medications.
