meaning of Arrayed library

Arrayed library meaning in Medical Dictionary

In genetics, an arrayed collection consist of (in technical terms) individual main recombinant clones which are hosted in phage, cosmid, YAC, or another vector that have been positioned in two- dimensional arrays in microtiter meals (synthetic dishes with an orderly selection of little wells). Each primary clone could be identified because of the identification associated with the dish together with clone area (row and column) on that plate. Arrayed libraries of clones are used for many purposes, including testing for a specific gene or genomic region. The info collected on individual clones from hereditary linkage and real map researches will be entered into a database and always construct physical and hereditary linkage maps
