alternative treatment may be the term for health items and practices that aren't part of standard treatment. Standard attention is exactly what physicians, physicians of osteopathy, and allied health professionals, eg nurses and physical therapists, practice. Alternative treatment is employed as opposed to standard health care. A good example is dealing with heart disease with chelation therapy (which seeks to remove extra metals from the bloodstream) rather than using a regular method. Samples of alternate techniques include homeopathy, standard medication, chiropractic, and acupuncture. Complementary medicine differs from alternative medicine. Whereas complementary medication can be used with traditional medicine, alternative treatment can be used instead of conventional medication. See in addition complementary medication, mainstream medicine.
