Overproduction associated with hormones aldosterone from the cortex (the exterior level) of adrenal gland or a cyst containing that particular muscle. Excess aldosterone (pronounced al'-do-ster-one) causes reduced potassium amounts (hypokalemia), underacidity of the human anatomy (alkalosis), muscle weakness, excess thirst (polydipsia), excess urination (polyuria), and hypertension (hypertension). Also known as hyperaldosteronism or Conn's problem.
